Q. What information do I need to book a non-emergency transport from a healthcare facility?
A.

Call our Dispatch at 617.492.2700. You’ll need the following information:

  • Patient’s first and last name
  • Pick-up location with floor or unit
  • Type of ambulance service (ACLS or BLS)
  • Special equipment or needs (02, cardiac monitor, bariatric patient, etc.)
  • Drop-off location with floor or unit

Q. Do you teach community level CPR and First Aid?
A. Professional offers several Citizen CPR and First Aid training events throughout the year. If you are interested in having us instruct your group contact training@proems.com. For more information on the types of courses available go to the Community section of our site
   
Q. When I called 9-1-1 for an ambulance a fire engine showed up first. Why?
A. The City of Cambridge utilizes an integrated system when responding to emergency medical calls. 9-1-1 calls are received and triaged by the Cambridge Emergency Communications Department. Depending on the nature of the emergency, a fire engine and fire department paramedics are sent as first responders along with an ambulance.
   
Q. If I have questions about a bill who do I contact?
A. All billing is handled in-house at our main location. Our billing office is staffed from 8:00AM until 4:00PM Monday through Friday. Q. Do you hire EMTs without any experience?

A. Slow down, signal, cautiously pull to the right and stop
   
Q. Why do I always see your ambulances in Harvard Square?
A. Professional posts or stages its ambulances throughout the City to ensure the shortest response time to all areas of the City. Harvard Square is a common post because of its central location
   
Q. I need an ambulance for a television commercial I'm shooting. Can I hire you?
A. If you’re looking for ambulances, EMS personnel or other resources for filming purposes, an advertisement, a photo shoot or instructional videos contact Bill Mergendahl. If you’d like to hire a vehicle for filming purposes, it will be necessary for at least one member of our staff to accompany the vehicle. There is a four hour minimum.
