The Pro EMS Dispatch center is staffed by emergency medical dispatchers specially trained in assessing calls and helping callers care for patients in the moments before an ambulance arrives. All Pro EMS dispatchers are EMD certified. Our dispatch center has multiple information systems that allow us to monitor the activities of every vehicle in our fleet ensuring the most appropriate vehicle is dispatched to every call. These systems also allow us to monitor our response times, on-time performance and utilization as part of our quality improvement process.
We use Zoll Data System’s Right CAD for automated dispatching, Motorola radios, and Airlink ATS for GPS and AVL. Pro EMS operates a multicasting radio system for broadcast over both 400mhz and 800mhz frequencies for redundancy. Pro EMS field providers are each issued their own Motorola portable radios. Dispatch is linked to the Cambridge ECC via radio, ISDN data lines and a Verizon ringdown telephone circuit. Each Dispatch system has both internal and external redundancies. Our entire dispatch center is supported by an emergency generator system that ensures our ability to continue
operations during electrical outages. In preparation for unseen natural and technological disasters a disaster plan and data recovery process including secondary dispatch locations, equipment caches and data restoration is in place. Additionally, the Dispatch center is supported by Transcor Information Technologies, Comtel Inc. and Trinity Property Management.
