Administration Department

We encourage personal and professional growth and development through regular in-service educational and training experiences because we understand our field providers are our number one asset. It is also expected that they have a primary responsibility, as adult learners, for the development and maintenance of their own knowledge base and competencies.

The mission of the Staff Development Department is to support the learning needs of our EMTs and Paramedics by encouraging individual staff members to evaluate their competencies and take action to improve their skill level and knowledge base.

Ultimately the Staff Development Department endeavors to improve the quality of pre-hospital care we deliver by administering the following employee development programs:
1. New Employee Orientation: A well-defined program of didactic, hands-on and field internship modules designed to familiarize new employees with their new environment, duties and responsibilities.
2. Health & Safety Classes: A comprehensive series of training classes geared toward employee well-being and physical safety including Workplace Violence Prevention and Injury Prevention.
3. Continuing Education: Web based and physical classes designed to build upon previously acquired knowledge and meet recertification requirements.
4. In-Service Training: Instructional training designed to increase competence in specific areas and keep field providers up to date with new protocols, equipment and procedures.
